The two days we spent in the
jungle were the highlight of our trip. If we had
abided by the advice provided in the guidebooks, we
would have never experienced these wonderful two
days. Guido and Enrique opened their homes and
hearts to us during our visit, and I encourage
anyone wanting an authentic jungle experience to get
in touch with Guido. Their rates are reasonable and
best of all you’ll be dealing with the camp owners.
Blessings and best wishes,

Dear Guido,
Choose Guido and you will have the trip of your life.
When we arrived into Iquitos we figured that we would probably head
for a touristy lodge. The best thing that could have
even happened was meeting Guido. At first we were
extremely apprehensive and cautious to go off into the
jungle with some guy we did not know. We did, and this
is what we got: first-class personal attention and
service by Guido, his driver and cook Anderson, and a
local villager Victor. We stayed in a lodge deep in the
jungle, just the two of us with this group of guides to
look after us. When we would return to the lodge at
night, kerosene lamps lit up the walkway to our cabana
that was waiting for us. We got to play futbal in a
village, go to a fun fiesta there also. We also did all
the things that other tourists do – see pink dolphins,
catch piranhas, swim in the Amazon, go for jungle walks
with the experts as our guides (they grew up out here),
see tarantulas, and eat very well. Because of our small
group size and Guido’s charismatic personality, we
really felt like a local with an afternoon of spear
fishing with the local boys and men. We traveled in
style with our own motorboat – Guido even picked us up
in a boat right in front of Hostel Alfert. First class
service – Alison felt sick the morning that we were to
leave and could not go that day. Guido generously
offered a city tour in the afternoon, taking us to Belen
for an amazing canoe ride. Victor was amazing – when we
went piranha fishing with him, this fish jumped off the
hook into the boat but he immediately stuck it back on
so that we could take a photo. Our five day trip into
the jungle will likely be the highlight of our entire
four month trip to South America.
Trust Guido and you will thank yourself.
Thank You Guido,
Anderson, and victor!
We would recommend you highly to anyone
Cheers,

I am writing a letter of
recommendation of behalf of Maniti Expeditions and Guido for all the work he
has put in these last ten days, you are probably reading
this in the back of a mototcar, or maybe you met Guido
in the Plaza De Armas, regardless, he is 100%
legitimate. I was highly skeptical before even arriving
in
Iquitos
because of all of the talk about con men but after
talking with Guido for a long time I decided to utilize
his experience and choose him as my guide. I could go on
for pages about my unbelievable time in the jungle but
you probably don’t to read that much. The first day I
was in the jungle I nearly broke my ankle. Guido and his
guides took the upmost care of me and Guido even opened
his own home to me for 3 days so that I could rest
before I went back into the jungle. Guido went above and
beyond what he said and I would say to you, USE GUIDO
FOR SURE, he can make any dream of the jungle come true,
even if you are hurt out in the jungle. I am referring
all my friends and family to Guido and you that are
reading this now. I am encouraging you to use him as
well. He will most definitely take care of you, my
information is below if you want to contact me.
Thank you so
much Guido. I will never forget
Iquitos
and my jungle experience.

If you are reading this you are
probably contemplating going on a tour with Guido. I do
not know what other tour guides offer but I will tell
about my 3 days with Guido. There is only one true way
to experience this amazing part of the world, speak with
the people, eat with the people, live amongst the
people, play sports with the people, hunt with the
people. Allow Guido to send you plunging deep into
Peruvian culture enveloped by a community and somewhere
so open and so welcome. As I do not speak Spanish, Guido
has been my doorway to this opportunity and somewhere
along the way he has become my friend. For those seeking
the more philosophical experience I say this: In my
experience, the closest I have come to understanding and
seeing the governing dynamics of human emotion is in the
faces of children. A child’s smile, a child crying, a
child staring in amazement at new world. So let the
insects, the rain, the waters, be free to blow against
thee in thy solitary walk but allow Guido to be by your
side to direct you into a jungle of human simplicity and
happiness, and I promise you now, you will leave with a
smile and an eternal connection that only fellow
visitors and adventurers will understand.
God bless you.

Hola – we had an excellent trip
with Guido and Maniti Expeditions! We didn’t have anything booked – just landed
in
Iquitos after a very long traveling mission from Cusco, we were really tired and just wanted to find a
hostel and chill out for the night. We bumped into Guido
– he stood out in the crowd – with his big smile! He
demanded we would go with him to his hostel. Lots of the
hostels were full but he found us a really good place to
stay. Yinico del Aguila – clean, safe, and really good
kitchen facilities – the land is really cool as well.
Guido told us our options for trips we
can do, we only had a few days – we decided to do 3
days/ 2 nights. We stayed with a family in the jungle –
really lovely place, the trips down the river were
amazing, Guido’s cooking was really good, especially the
BBQ chickens. I think we really got to see the way the
local people live.
We were looked after really well and
Guido was happy the whole way through the trip – very
knowledgeable with all the wildlife and vegetation. He
took us out early the first morning to find birds, which
was really beautiful!
I am very pleased we met Guido, he
managed to find us an excellent hostel with a good
kitchen and location. He arranged everything for the
jungle which made our life very easy and enjoyable.
The jungle trip was really good, I
especially enjoyed cruising up and down the waterways.
We saw lots of birds and snakes. The place we stayed in
the jungle was great. We stayed with a really nice
family and we ate really well. I cannot thank Guido and
his family enough.
Will be recommending to EVERYONE –
Take care Guido – Thank You SOOOOOOO much
Cheers,

Hi there peoples, welcome to the
Amazon Rainforest. Just got back from a week tour of the
jungle and feeling like I’ve really experienced a part
of the Amazon. Like everyone, I came here to have a look
at this amazing place but what I really wanted was to
meet the people that live here, which was exactly what
Guido and his crew made happen for me. We stayed in real
places with real people and got looked after real well.
Guido and his crew are fantastic, they have excellent
knowledge of the place but are also really fun and happy
people to be around. I’d say they were a hoot! A lot of
tour companies in
Iquitos
are run by foreigners making money from the area but
Guido is a true Amazon man born and bred and he supports
true Amazon people which is important for me. The tour
was really personal and catered to me. If you want to
have a real Amazonian experience, Guido’s your man! Have
fun and go hard.

After having spent 3 days in the Jungle with a guide,
and a shaman, I have found that my experience is still
sinking in. I came here to Iquitos mainly with the Idea of taking
Ayahuasca and in some way changing my life.
My mind was
so swollen with the desire to take this magical medicine
and alleviate myself from the fears, and subconscious
hinderances that I have allowed to control my life for
so long. I figured that in some way i would drink this
magic potion and have this incredible life changing
vision, and all would be fixed. But now I sit in the
internet cafe in
Iquitos
and realize that this is my vision, and my three day
magical tour was just a reconfirmation that life is and
always will be what you make of it. I took some time to
truly figure out if I was choosing the right guide, and
if I was getting the right price, and would have the
right experience. All I have to say is that his name is
Guido, which means Guide, and with his Help you will
find what you are looking for.
Thank you for everything,

If you want to experience the jungle the right way,
contact Guido and Maniti Expeditions. The week I spent in Iquitos was
incredible. Upon our arrival he met us at the airport
and we went to his house to see his family and make a
plan. The next day, we took a two hour boat ride down
the river to the house of Jesus and Maria. They were
very hospitable to us and the food they made along with
our cook Daisy was excellent. I don't even like fish,
but Daisy grilled the best catfish I have ever had in my
life. Aside from the fresh fish they had yucca, bananas,
papayas, limes and other delicious fruit growing
everywhere. We went to several small villages to see how
the native people live. In one village we played three
games of soccer with the men. There was tons of wildlife
everywhere, on one island there was a colony of
domesticated monkeys you can play with. Guido shared his
considerable knowledge about all of the plants,
wildlife, and customs that we encountered. One night we
met a shaman who had made a potion for us called
ayahuasca. After drinking it we went on an intense
spiritual journey for some hours, I felt one with the
nature all around me.
I highly recommend this service over any others,
especially since you will be promoting local families
and their economy. You will certainly walk away from
this place humbled and enriched. Guido showed me an
experience that I will never forget. Thanks Guido.

Compadre Guido...We met last year and i told you "i was going to write you a recommendation"...So Guido please post this on your web site. I was the guy who took the Ayahuasca with the french/canadians and the left the next day....I left you a red hat from Australia. Hope everything is well and your make lots of money.
I was introduced to guido because one of my friends had a contact there, but it was basically like meeting an old friend. He personality will only add this unique expericence of travelling through the amazon We had a memorable experience and this was mostly because of the quality of the guides. Guido was extremely professional, knowledgeable, hospitable and a superb guide and host in every way - from making meticulous plans with sight seeing, transportion and in depth explanations of the area. His knowledge about Amazon culture and history were imressive and his views on their religious philosophy was sophisticated and enlightening. I can recommend Guido as a guide without hesitation. There are many tour operators in the amazon, but in my experience it makes a lot of sense to go with one that comes recommended - I have not regretted doing this in any place where I travelled around the world.

Me and my friend Drew spent 6 unforgettable days in the jungle with our tour guide Guido and his helpers. Guido made sure that we got the real Amazon experience. We have seen so much within the 6 days, from swimming with pink dolphins, monkey watching, and trying Ayahuasca with the local shaman Victor. The experience exceeded my expectations, and that was only our first day. The second day we went piranha fishing and then later went for a trek into the jungle to view snakes, spiders, and lots more wildlife.
The jungle lodge was extremely comfortable and had picture perfect views over the Amazon River. Guido introduced us to the local village where we were warmly welcomed. We spent 2 nights playing futbal with some of the guys from the village which was great fun. We then went deeper into the jungle and spend 2 nights camping, which was amazing. The sound of the jungle really comes to life at night and sleeping in the middle of it is something I will never forget. We went alligator spotting in the night and Guido’s fearless helper, Miguel, pulled an alligator out of the water so that we could touch it and take some photos.
If you are looking to get a real authentic experience of the Amazon while eating well and staying in the comfort, I recommend that you get in touch with Maniti Expeditions!!

Me and a friend spent 6 days out in the jungle with Guido and his helpers Miguel and Victor. Guido could not have been more helpful and his knowledge of the rainforest is amazing. We were looked after every step of the way. 3 meals a day, expertly cooked by Guido, and several expeditions deeper into the jungle. The lodge was perfect, a good base to start at and part of a friendly community where we had a couple of games of futbal with the locals. We then stayed a few nights in a camp in the jungle, sleeping on the floor of the jungle, the sights and sounds of this experience I will never forget, and I owe this to Maniti Expeditions and Guido for setting everything up and being our companion.

We spent three days with Maniti Camp Expeditions. The trip was unforgettable; everyone was extremely knowledgeable and aware of their surroundings. I wish we could have spent more time in the forest and in “La Libertad”. The people working with Maniti Camp Expeditions are very professional and trustworthy. I would recommend this trip to anyone. We were introduced to many animals and plants of the Amazon. I hope to return and spend more time.

Miguel and Weninger were absolutely fantastic! They looked after us from the very start, made sure that we always had food and drink and took the time to explain things in English and Spanish. I was traveling alone from Iquitos and I was made to feel very safe and secure and and made friends with another solo traveler in my group.
We saw sloths, amazon kingfish, pink dolphins, a tarantula, many birds, frogs, crocodile, etc. This afternoon we swam in the river with the dolphins which was incredible.
Due to a strike on june 4, I struggled to get back to Iquitos for my flight to Lima, however, Miguel and Weninger organized a ferry for me to Iquitos and transport from there to the airport. They will be traveling with me to make sure I am safe as I cannot speak Spanish.
I would definitely recommend them and I will be staying in touch with them!
